چکیده:
Humans are created in hardship and face various problems throughout life. Managing problems can deliver them from suffering and show them a peaceful path amidst calamities. On the other hand, failure to manage problems leads to neurological disorders and sometimes dissatisfaction with life. Some religions have presented programs based on their worldview for managing problems to make enduring suffering easier or to uproot it. In the Quranic teachings of Islam, the teachings of its leaders, and also the teachings of Buddha, solutions have been provided to achieve this goal. This writing, using a descriptive-analytical method, seeks to find the solutions of Islam and Buddhism for liberation from suffering and to compare and briefly analyze them. In many cases, the Quran, by accepting suffering and calamity in human life, considers it purposeful, views its depth as goodness and virtue, and sees it as a means to reach perfection, dividing it in a general and comprehensive view into three parts: reflection of actions, atonement for sins, or a context for character evolution. On the other hand, in Buddhism, suffering—which is a characteristic of all existence, including humans—does not state a purpose for unpleasant events in human life through a pessimistic view; rather, one must necessarily find liberation from suffering after following the Eightfold Path. This article, after presenting the problem and conceptualization, addresses the solutions for liberation from suffering from the perspective of Islam and Buddhism and analyzes them.

Suffering, calamity, Islam, Buddhism, liberation from suffering Introduction Humans face calamities and problems in their lives, each of which has its own specific issue and case, varies throughout different stages of life, and has different complexities and ease for different individuals.
Solutions for Liberation from Suffering in the Quran and Traditions Islamic teachings point to the existence of hardships and problems in human life and the testing of man with the facilities provided to him.
Another of the Buddhist thoughts that is effective in the analysis of suffering in this religion is the doctrine of "Karma"; meaning that the current life of every human being arises from the actions they performed in their past life and the repetitive cycle of human life in this world, which is called Samsara, continues infinitely, and these successive births themselves cause human suffering, unless a person reaches Nirvana, in which state they find liberation from suffering.
The difference between the religion of Islam and Buddhism regarding the meaning of suffering and happiness, and the ways to achieve liberation from suffering, can be sought in the worldview and the type of perspective each has toward the origin of the universe, the world, humanity, and the ultimate goal of each.
