چکیده:
By reflecting on the period of the Minor Occultation, we realize that regarding the Four Deputies, who were the only link between the Shiites and Imam Mahdi (aj), the Shiites had complete trust and certainty during the Minor Occultation. The structures of this certainty were based on clear signs and evidence that, with the passage of time and increasing distance from them, caused ambiguity for the audience. It seems that various pieces of evidence such as: the confirmation and authentication by the two Imams of Askari; the introduction of the next deputy by the previous deputy; the issuance of Tawqi'at in the same handwriting of the era of Imam Hasan Askari (as) and the familiarity of the elders with them; the Tawqi'at possessing knowledge of the unseen and their fulfillment; the behavioral integrity of the Four Deputies; the loss of trust caused by false claimants through lapses in beliefs and property; the Imam's supervision over the deputies and confrontation with claimants, and the confirmation of the Tawqi'at by the elders, have caused the Shiites to believe in the Four Deputies and confirm their connection to Imam Mahdi (aj).

It seems that various pieces of evidence such as: the confirmation and authentication by the two Askari Imams; the introduction of the next deputy by the previous deputy; the issuance of tawqi'at (signed letters) in the same handwriting of the era of Imam Hasan al-Askari (as) and the familiarity of prominent figures with them; the possession of unseen knowledge (ilm al-ghayb) by the tawqi'at and their fulfillment; the moral integrity of the four deputies; the loss of trust caused by false claimants through lapses in beliefs and wealth; the Imam's supervision over the deputies and confrontation with claimants; and the confirmation of the tawqi'at by prominent figures, led to the belief of Shiites in the four deputies and the verification of their connection to Imam Mahdi (aj).
In a narration from Muhammad ibn Isma'il and Ali ibn Abdullah, the action of Imam Hasan al-Askari (as) regarding informing a group of Shiites from Yemen about the trustworthiness and faithfulness of Uthman and his son has been reported (Tusi, 1425 AH: 355; Hurr al-Amili, 1425 AH: Vol. 5, 130) In addition to the Imam instilling trust in the people and the elites by identifying individuals and authenticating and describing them, general confirmations were issued by the Imam regarding the deputies to reassure the people that the deputyship organization, and specifically and primarily the four deputies who are closer to him, have been appointed through him (Kulayni, 1429 AH: Vol. 2, 666).
