چکیده:
Revelation is synonymous with terms such as inspiration, revelation (mukashafa), observation (mushahada), khawatir, and dreams; the relationship between revelation and each of these terms is one of similarity. However, there is a distinction between revelation and each of these concepts that separates revelation from them. One of the characteristics of revelation is that it is immune to any kind of error or mistake, whereas none of the related terms possess this characteristic.

1. Formal Kashf: Formal kashf is a type of mukashafa that is obtained in the world of images (alam al-mithal) through the five senses; because the five senses, in the interior of the soul, due to their barzakh existence and exist in an imaginal state, and material senses are realized through the apertures of the senses present in imagination toward other senses present in the imaginal existence in the realm of intellect as a single collective existence; therefore, the soul in its inner existence and station of complete abstraction hears with intellectual hearing, sees with intellectual vision, and tastes with intellectual perception, and the same applies to other senses.
This type of kashf, like formal mukashafa, has levels, only one of which is mentioned here: the manifestation of unseen meanings in the heart, which is referred to as inspiration (ilham).
