چکیده:
A careful study of the 'Allamah Tabataba'i’s words in his commentary of, Al-Mizan, shows that, to him, history has special importance, necessity and usefulness, and it is valid in itself. No doubt, when the propositions about history contradict with the Qur'anic verses about history, they are rendered invalid. The late Allamah Tabataba'I views history from a particular angle, and describes it as the knowledge of events, the causes and time of their occurrence. He also divides history into two types: narrative and terrestrial. He believes that many relevant questions and paradoxes can be resolved through history. He also considers the historical events whose occurrence is subject of no debate as " incontrovertible historical facts". He holds that the aim of referring to historical events by the Quran is to provide man with lessons and guide him. He attracts the attention to the factors which contribute to the distortion of history, warns the historians about their dangers, and urges them to recognize and avoid them when they dissect the historical propositions.
خلاصه ماشینی:
Allameh Tabataba'i views history from a specific perspective, describing it as the recognition of events and the cause and time of their occurrence, and he also divides it into two types: transmitted (naqli) and terrestrial (zamini).
Furthermore, the abundance of Quranic verses that refer to historical events increases the importance and necessity of such research, because historical propositions rush to the aid of the exegete, enabling him to provide correct interpretation and analysis with the help of historical propositions and the historical verses of the Quran; and this important task is realized only if he considers history to be valid and important, just as Allameh Tabataba'i views history.
" 124 Ibn Khaldun also says in its definition: "Know that the art of history is a method that not everyone can attain, and it possesses great benefits and a noble goal, for this art makes us aware of the life stories and virtues of nations, the biographies of prophets, and the states and policies of past kings.
126 Abu Ali Miskawayh, who views history from an ethical and philosophical perspective and considers it always repeatable, maintains that since today's and tomorrow's events are similar to events that have occurred in the past, the goal and benefit of history is to provide experience and lessons from it for the improvement of affairs, such as adopting correct policies, paying attention to prosperity and development, attention to the lives of the people, military reforms, and preventing ominous events.
" 142 Another case is that Allameh Tabataba'i does not accept certain narrations found in a Quranic story and considers the lack of mention of them in history and their contradiction by history as the reason for non-acceptance.
