In this midst, there were a handful of the companions of the Commander of the Faithful ( علیه السلام ) who, in their meeting with Muawiyah, despite the atmosphere of suffocation, intimidation, and threat that prevailed, risked their lives and, instead of expressing helplessness and weakness, spoke to him boldly and from a position of power, and instead of saying "O Commander of the Faithful," they used the word "O Muawiyah" 57 they used, and Aqil ibn Abi Talib is one of these individuals, as what has been narrated in historical sources regarding his conversation with Muawiyah bears witness to this claim; if it were otherwise, it would certainly have been narrated, just as it has been narrated about others.
