چکیده:
Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, with the help of Muhammad ibn Saud, established the Wahhabi movement in the Najd region of Saudi Arabia. By declaring Muslims as disbelievers (takfir), he paved the way for the killings, looting, and wars of Ibn Saud against the Muslims of Najd. Supporters of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, following his lead and to justify his militant actions, maintain that the people of Najd were polytheists and ignorant during his era. In contrast, opponents of Ibn Abd al-Wahhab consider this thought to be the foundation for legitimizing the killings and looting by the Wahhabis; based on the evidence they cite, it is understood that declaring the people of Najd as disbelievers and ignorant was a means to achieve political and social power and a pretext for revenge against those who did not submit to his words. In this article, we examine the scientific situation of the era of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab from the perspective of his supporters and opponents.
