چکیده:
Play, as one of the most effective educational and training tools, plays a very important role in the growth and development of children's social skills, especially exceptional students. Due to their specific physical, mental, or psychological characteristics, exceptional students usually face challenges in establishing social relationships, empathy, cooperation, and effective interaction with others. In this regard, play can serve as a safe, motivating, and structured platform that facilitates indirect learning of skills such as communication, participation, taking turns, problem-solving, and emotion regulation. The present research, conducted as a review using a library method, examines studies and scientific resources related to the role of play in enhancing the social skills of exceptional students. The findings from the literature review show that various types of individual, group, symbolic, and structured games can effectively improve interpersonal relationships, increase self-confidence, reduce social anxiety, and strengthen adaptive behaviors in these students. Additionally, study results indicate that designing and implementing play-based educational programs, tailored to the type and level of children's disabilities, can play an important role in their social empowerment. In conclusion, it is suggested that coaches, teachers, and educational planners utilize the extensive capacities of play in the process of teaching and rehabilitating exceptional students so that their social and emotional growth opportunities are sustainably strengthened.

Play, especially for exceptional students who may experience inefficiency in traditional learning processes, can provide a suitable, enjoyable, and safe environment for strengthening social interactions and developing communication abilities.
(1403) in an article titled "The Role of Play Activities in Strengthening Students' Social and Communicative Skills," emphasized that group and interactive games can provide a safe and informal environment for practicing social skills and contribute to the social growth and development of students.
The importance of these skills is doubled regarding exceptional students – which includes children with special needs such as learning disabilities, developmental disorders, intellectual, hearing, visual, or physical-motor disabilities – because many of these children naturally face serious challenges in shaping social relationships and effective interaction with others.
In fact, play is not only an entertaining tool for children, but as an active and interactive learning process, it can strengthen various domains including social, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral skills in exceptional students.
