چکیده:
This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of problem-solving skills training on increasing responsibility and achievement motivation in low-achieving students. The present research method is quasi-experimental with a pre-test/post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the present research included all female secondary school students in Urmia during the academic year 2023-2024. The sampling method was convenience sampling as follows: First, 30 low-achieving female students from the second stage of secondary school were identified by obtaining information from teachers. Then, these students were randomly assigned to two groups of 15 for experimental and control. To collect data, the Ryan and Deci (1997) questionnaires, the Hermans academic achievement motivation scale, and the Goff (1987) responsibility assessment questionnaire were used. For hypothesis testing, Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) was used, utilizing SPSS statistical software version 20. The findings indicate that low-achieving students who received problem-solving skills training had higher responsibility than the control group, and problem-solving skills training has a significant positive effect on increasing achievement motivation in low-achieving students; furthermore, the achievement motivation in low-achieving students who received problem-solving skills training was higher than in the control group.
