The present study expresses the common views of Rumi and Ibn Arabi on the levels of Adam (AS). In the field of Islamic mysticism, we are witnessing one of the most comprehensive definitions of Adam, his high and exalted position with God and his rank in the world system. Ibn Arabi and Rumi, due to having common doctrinal and intellectual sources, have many common views and ideas about this divine prophet, and the reason for this is their common intellectual foundations, especially the Holy Quran, as the main source of knowledge and then Hadiths and Islamic teachings and lectures and teachings of former mystics. Therefore, both mystics have provided comprehensive definitions regarding the place of man in the system of creation. Theoretical Foundations In this writing, using a descriptive-analytical method, we have addressed the views of Rumi and Ibn Arabi and their method of expression and imagery regarding the levels of Adam in a general sense across six groups: the story of creation, vicegerency (khilafat) and the realization of divine names in Adam, the empowerment of angels with his vicegerency, the confrontation of Iblis with Adam, his Lordship (rububiyat), Adam being a mirror for the attributes of the Truth Exalted, and his position in the arc of descent and ascent, so that after reviewing, summarizing, applying, and analyzing them, we may reach the desired results.
Thus, the level of each prophet can be determined based on his degree of sainthood and the measure of the manifestation and realization of the Divine Names and Attributes (their quantity and quality) according to what has reached us from the Quran, hadith, and the reports of the great mystics, especially Ibn Arabi and Rumi.
