چکیده:
The present research aims to compare marriage ceremonies among the Kurds of Ilam province and the Faeili Kurds of Iraq. Due to the lack of existing resources, the researcher utilized the presence of Faeili Kurds who reside in Iran temporarily or permanently, as well as communication through social networks with Faeili Kurds residing in Iraq. A qualitative research method and in-depth interview technique were used. The statistical population of the research consisted of key informants who have full familiarity with the cultured Kurds of Ilam province and the Faeili Kurds of Iraq. The sample size was 17 people (9 people from the Kurds of Ilam province and 8 people from the Faeili Kurds of Iraq) who were selected purposefully. The data collection method was field-based, and during analysis, the documentary method was also used to complete the information. The marriage ceremonies of both groups respectively include: 'proposal (Pah Sse Nye and Khazme-nye); engagement (Diari and Kharj-bari); hand-kissing ritual; buying of khala'at (robes); the custom of Shir-baha (milk right); shopping; preparing dowry; marriage contract ceremony; henna night (Khniya Watan); the ceremony of giving blessings and tying a shawl around the bride's waist; sacrificing a sheep; the wedding ceremony (Sur), and finally, the 'Pagoshayi' (unveiling/departure) ceremony.'

Therefore, the main question of the present research is: what similarities do the tribes of Ilam province and the Feyli Kurds of Iraq share, especially regarding marriage ceremonies?
Among the Feyli Kurds of Iraq, the "pasanyeh" or "choosing" stage currently takes two forms: in the traditional form, the groom's mother, along with several female relatives and without the accompaniment of the son, goes to the house of the intended girl.
According to field research, among the Feyli Kurds of Iraq, after the families have reached an agreement, the groom's family, along with a number of female and male relatives, carrying a ring or necklace, sweets, and chocolate, visits the girl's house in a meeting called diyâri (showing).
Fili Kurds of Iraq: After the wedding ceremony or honeymoon, before the bride enters her husband's house, the groom's family sacrifices a sheep in front of her feet; the bride also passes over the sacrificial blood for the purpose of blessing and prosperity, and enters the house with shouts of joy and celebration.
Pagshayi Ceremony Kurds of Ilam Province: After the marriage ceremony, the families of the groom and bride invite each other for lunch or dinner.
