چکیده:
Abstract The word Imam means a leader and the word Imamate means leadership and technically it refers to a divine position and successorship of the Prophet (PBUH) in leading and managing the society in the affairs related to the religion and worldly life of the Islamic community. Shiites consider "Imamate" as part of theological issues and believe that the Imam must have characteristics like infallibility (Ismah), beign appointed, divine (ladunni) knowledge, and superiority (afzaliyyat), whereas the Sunnis consider Imamate as ancillaries of religion (Furu' al-Din) and do not regard any of the mentioned features for the Imam. Each of the Imams (AS) have chosen a method for explaining the policies, the principles and the beliefs of Shiites regarding the requirements of their time; however, regarding the intense atmosphere which happened after the event of Ashura at the time of the Imamate of Imam Sajjad (AS), these questions are raised "Has the Imam referred to the fundamental issue of Imamte and its characteristics?", "Which method and form has the Imam chosen in explaining these issues?". Using descriptive-analytical method, the present research has investigated the characteristics of Imamate regarding the Supplication 47 of al-Sahifah al-Sajjadiyyah and the findings reveal that the Imam has explained the most valuable teachings of Shiites like the position and characteristics of Imamate in the form of supplication.

Characteristics of Imamate in the Forty-Seventh Supplication of Sahifa Sajjadiyya 1* Mohammad Ali Izadi 2 Hassan Sajjadipour 3 Vahid Pashaei Date of Receipt: 2022/02/16 Date of Acceptance: 2022/03/01 Abstract In linguistics, Imam means a follower and leader, and Imamate means leadership and guidance; in terminology, it is the divine position and succession of the Prophet (s) in leading and managing the society in matters related to the religion and worldly affairs of the Islamic Ummah.
From this perspective, the Imam is a person who, like the Prophet (s), is chosen by God and possesses the status of infallibility (Ismah) and inspired knowledge (Ilm al-Ladhuni - divinely bestowed), and can provide an error-free interpretation of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (s) and undertake the leadership of the Ummah in all religious and worldly affairs.
Based on this, Shias consider Imam Ali (a) and his descendants to be the most important source for acquiring religious knowledge after the Prophet (s), and believe that their interpretation of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (s) is an infallible interpretation that must be followed (Al-Sharif al-Murtada, 1410, Vol. 2: 7 to 42).
The selection and choice of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) has taken place based on scientific choice, meaning that according to His eternal knowledge, God chose the Imams from among all individuals (based on merit and competence) for important tasks (the guidance and direction of the people) (Javadi Amoli, 1389, Vol. 3, 73-72).
