چکیده:
Place identity is a function of the functions of spaces and spatial structures. Place identities trigger different feelings of place belonging that, in accordance with the political culture of their residents, are considered creators of different political actions. The sphere of influence of places is a function of their spatial weight and strategic position. From this perspective, political actors, by being present in specific places, engage in power demonstration and participation. Due to the existence of various political and educational centers at national and international scales and the connection between East and West Tehran, Districts 6 and 11 of Tehran have given a special political character to the area of Enghelab Square and Street over the past few decades. These characteristics have made the aforementioned area an arena for various political forces and currents. The present research, by utilizing field findings from other studies, concluded that the space, structure, and spatial functions of the Enghelab Square and Street area convey a form of place identity for political currents that other areas are no longer able to provide the ideals and demands of.
