چکیده:
The manifestation of ancient Iranian myths, such as the mythical concepts and characters of the Shahnameh, in the poems of the imposed war period cannot be accidental; the mythical elements of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh are considered examples of epic poetry. At the appropriate time, the collective unconscious of poets acts as their helper in using these archetypes, such as the war poets during the 'Iran-Iraq Imposed War' who reflected these archetypes in their poetry. One of the goals of this research is to show the value and importance of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh in line with the unity and integrity of the Iranian nation, especially during the Iran-Iraq imposed war, and another goal of this essay is the representation of the glories of the combatants on the battlefields to ensure the continuity of the integrity, glory, and greatness of Iran. The definition of epic, the function of the epic in encouraging the nation at appropriate times such as wartime; the necessity and conditions for creating an epic and its role in the permanence of historical and national events, considering the main factor of religion in the process of the imposed war, the manifestation of a number of mythical elements of Iran's national epic, poetic tools in the poems of the imposed war period, the fundamental heroes of the Shahnameh as archetypes and models of courage, and the brave men of the battlefields in comparison to them, are other axes of the discussion.

Other discussion axes include the definition of epic, the function of the epic in encouraging the nation at appropriate times such as wartime; the necessity and conditions for creating an epic and its role in the permanence of historical and national events, considering the main factor of religion in the course of the imposed war, the manifestation of a number of mythical elements of Iran's national epic, poetic tools in the poems of the imposed war period, the fundamental heroes of the Shahnameh as archetypes and models of courage, and the brave men of the battlefields in comparison with them.
The frequency of elements representing ancient identity, or rather Iranian identity, is striking in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, and it also has a very widespread reflection in the poetry of the Sacred Defense over the eight years; because a number of poems by poets of the Sacred Defense era during the imposed war, in order to create unity and preserve Iranian national identity, contain archetypes such as mythical heroes and elements of Iran's past culture.
Considering the prevailing atmosphere in the fourth century, Ferdowsi, while recounting the events of the stories in the Shahnameh, implicitly expresses his dissatisfaction with the existing situation; for example, in the story of Zahhak, he says: {Sنهان گشت کردار فرزانگان#پراکنده شد کام دیوانگان# هنر خوار شد،جادوی ارجمند#نهان راستی،آشکارا گزند# شده بربدی دست دیوان دراز#بنیکی نرفتی سخن جز به رازS} (Ferdowsi, 1966:51, Vol. 1, 5) In the contemporary era, when the borders of Iran were invaded by one of the Arab countries (Iraq) that were Muslim, the brave warriors of Iran created epics in the direction of preserving national identity, and the capable poets of this period, by approaching the mythological archetypes and the past culture of Iran, reflected these braveries in their poems.
