چکیده:
The present article focuses on the discursive order of Imam Khomeini (RA) regarding national security and foreign policy. In this writing, after reviewing the discussion of discourse theory and discourse analysis, the views of six early and late Muslim thinkers regarding national security and foreign policy are briefly presented, and then the views of His Eminence the Imam (RA) in this regard are explained in detail. Then, based on the theory and method of discourse analysis, his map of meanings or discursive order has been extracted and detailed. The aforementioned discursive order—in other words—explains important dimensions of the political theory of His Eminence the Imam (RA). This article shows that the formulation of Imam's (RA) discursive order around the mentioned subject is contingent upon 'Islamic Revivalism' as the central signifier, and through 'Dignity-seeking,' it is linked to two very important elements: 'deterrence and duty-oriented defense' and 'purposeful and dignified interaction with the world.'
خلاصه ماشینی:
In view of the above, in line with the discourse analysis of Imam Khomeini (RA), the following first presents a comparison of the views of six Muslim thinkers along with the view of His Eminence (RA) regarding two subjects, "national security" and "foreign policy," and then, based on those views, the discursive order of His Eminence (RA) has been formulated.
The necessity of managing external threats and dilemmas on one hand, alongside the necessities of addressing instability, maintaining and strengthening the structure of the Islamic state, and reconstructing the country's economy on the other, were the fundamental elements that shaped Imam Khomeini's (RA) approach in the field of security and foreign policy.
Regarding the issue of the Sacred Defense, although the Imam repeatedly spoke of the continuation of the war until final victory over the enemy - meaning the fall of the Ba'athist regime of Iraq - when military experts (the then commander of the IRGC) and the government's economic headquarters explained to him the difficulty of this goal due to the all-encompassing support of both East and West for the Iraqi regime, the possibility of significant damage to the country as a result of the continuation of the war, and the severe economic pressure on the people, and requested a solution to the problem, the Imam - who considered the preservation of the system of the Islamic Republic as the primary priority and the foremost expediency - and due to his dynamic ijtihad corresponding to time and place, agreed to accept a ceasefire conditional upon the realization of Iran's demands in the field of international politics.
