In this verse of the prayer, after praising and glorifying God and making a brief reference to His infinite greatness and mentioning the wonderful beauties that have manifested throughout creation, Imam Sajjad (AS) requests blessings and greetings from the Holy Divine Presence for Muhammad and his progeny, who are the most beautiful and wonderful manifestations of that Holy Essence; then, he takes those exalted ones as intercessors so that, after divine success and Lordly guidance, in the light of their pure teachings and instructions, they themselves, their friends, relatives, and all followers of their path remain immune from the harm of "deviation (al-ilhad)". In this passage, Imam Sajjad (AS), through allusion and in the form of prayer, considers reaching the station of proximity and Divine presence as the purpose of human creation, and asks God the Almighty to bring him and all his relatives and loved ones near to the proximity of His presence. In this passage, Imam Sajjad (AS) teaches us to entrust ourselves to the sufficiency of the All-Knowing and All-Powerful God when facing such events, and to ask Him that He, with His extensive sufficiency, takes our hand and delivers us from these harms and occurrences; therefore, he expresses: O God, send blessings upon Muhammad and his progeny, and suffice us against the hardships of the times, keep us away from the evil traps of Satan, and protect us from the bitterness of the wrath and oppression of the ruler.
