چکیده:
This research was conducted to identify the factors affecting the effectiveness of employee training courses. The main objective was to propose strategies for improving the level of effectiveness of training courses at the Khorasan Regional Electric Company by achieving the research objectives. To this end, the views of employees and managers regarding the 6 main elements of training programs—namely needs assessment, learning resource content, instructor, method, implementation conditions, and evaluation—were examined. A survey method was chosen to answer the 6 research questions. A researcher-made questionnaire, developed with the help of existing evaluation resources in the company, valid scientific sources, and consultation with experts, consisting of 26 closed-ended questions, was designed and validated. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires among 220 employees and conducting semi-structured interviews with 6 senior managers. The findings showed that among the main elements of a training course, teaching methods and implementation conditions are more effective, respectively, than needs assessment, learning content, instructor, and evaluation. At the end of the article, a pre-implementation evaluation checklist and guidelines for managers to improve the effectiveness of training courses are provided.
