Commercial Research Quarterly, No. 95, Summer 2014, 52-55 Institutional Barriers to Investment and Business in Iran Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hosseinzadeh Bahreini* Saeed Malek al-Sadati** Received: 2019/05/11 Accepted: 2019/12/24 Business/Institutional Environment/Social Capital Abstract In this research, after reviewing the components of the business institutional environment, the sense of insecurity and concern of investors and business owners in Iran has been measured in the form of several subjective variables.
The results of these tests show that the components constituting the business institutional environment in Iran, in almost all cases, are in a less suitable state compared to developed countries and the whole world.
Then, by presenting theoretical discussions regarding social capital, risk, and its relationship with investment and also the quality of the business institutional environment, we will prepare the ground for testing the research hypotheses.
Literature Review The existing literature regarding the subject of this research is divided into two major categories: the first category aims directly at identifying institutional variables and measuring or comparing them, and the second category has placed the investigation of the relationship between the aforementioned variables and economic growth and development on its agenda; and of course, these two currents have been linked in many studies.
In these integrated studies, first the institutional variables are identified and measured, and then, the significance or non-significance of the relationship between the aforementioned variables and variables related to investment and growth is tested (this category can be considered a third type of existing research in the literature).
