The first part addresses form-focused instruction and the developments raised in this field, followed by the discussion of post-method and various theories regarding it, and finally addresses qualitative research. The second part will be read in the next issue. Abstract English language teaching has witnessed significant developments in recent years. Despite this, many of these developments are unknown to Iranian teachers and have not yet found a way into the country's practical or theoretical discussions. In this article, an attempt has been made to examine some of these changes. The topics raised include: form-focused instruction, the post-method debate, linguistic imperialism and critical pedagogy, reflective teaching, new perspectives in applied linguistics, and qualitative research.
