Daily maximum, minimum, and average temperature data from four stations in Kermanshah, Islamabad-e Gharb, Sarpol-e Zahab, and Kangavar were selected as representatives of different climates in Kermanshah province for a 15-year statistical period from 1986 to 2000 AD. After verifying and ensuring the suitability of their quality and quantity for this study, they were used. Daily thermal data were organized in the form of 7-day averages, such that through this method, 52 values were determined for minimum temperature, 52 for maximum temperature, and 52 for average temperature. In the next step, the prepared data were analyzed using the agglomerative clustering method, which is one of the most common clustering methods. The results obtained based on the thermal indices used show that in Kermanshah province, the year can basically be divided into two main hot and cold seasons, namely summer and winter. The transitional seasons, autumn and spring, are very short and fleeting. Based on the composite index of maximum, minimum, and average temperature in Kermanshah province, winter lasts 16 weeks and summer lasts 19 weeks. Spring and autumn seasons last 9 and 8 weeks, respectively. The natural seasons in Kermanshah province do not coincide with the official start dates of the seasons. Based on the composite thermal index, winter starts from week 48, spring from week 12, summer from week 21, and autumn from week 40. Based on the average thermal index in the warm region of the province, represented by the Sarpol-e Zahab station, spring begins when the air temperature reaches 24/3 degrees Celsius. Summer begins at 36/5 degrees, autumn at 34/5 degrees, and winter at 21/3 degrees. In the cold region of the province, represented by the Kangavar station, spring begins at 10/7 degrees Celsius, summer at 19/3 degrees, autumn at 15/8 degrees, and winter at 7/7 degrees Celsius. Despite the general perception regarding the length of the winter season in the cold region and the length of the summer in the warm region of Kermanshah province, the results of this study do not prove this matter.
