Given that investment in the field of information systems requires significant financial resources and failure in these investments will impose enormous costs on the investing organization, it is essential to engage in information systems planning. In this article, while defining strategic information systems planning and explaining its process in the form of a schematic model, based on scientific and research achievements, the effective criteria in determining the priority of information systems development, which is one of the important stages in the strategic information systems planning process, are investigated.
