چکیده:
Distortion-indicating narrations—ambiguity in the history of the compilation of the Holy Quran from the perspective of some, the existence of narrations regarding the resemblance of the major events of the Islamic Ummah to the events of previous nations, and the absence of the names of the Infallibles (AS) in the words of the Quran—are considered the most important factors in the emergence of the admission of Quranic distortion. Among these, what is more worthy of reflection and investigation than other factors is the existence of narrations—seemingly—indicating the distortion of the Quran among various books, some of which have more importance and credibility than other sources. This research aims, regardless of the chain and documentary studies already conducted, to examine the textual content of the narrations used by distortionists in the book Al-Kafi. The first step of this article is dedicated to extracting all these narrations—seemingly related to distortion—which are about eighty narrations from the book Al-Kafi; subsequently, the point of contention in each narration is explained, and after a precise and documented critique and review of each of these narrations, a final classification is presented. Intra-textual evidence, the context of the narrations, extra-textual clues, and the words of Islamic scholars are our resources in these critiques and reviews. In this research, it is revealed that the intention of the late Kulayni in quoting any of the mentioned narrations from the book Al-Kafi was not to express the distortion of the Quran through addition or subtraction; therefore, the claim and accusation of distortion against Thiqat al-Islam Kulayni is invalid, and the precious Hadith book Al-Kafi contains no narration indicating the distortion of the Quran.
