The Effect of 8 Weeks Combined Exercise (Aerobic - Resistance) on Serum IL-18 Levels in Obese Men

CONCLUSIONS

According to this study, body weight, body fat percentage, BMI and IL-18 following an 8-weeks combined exercise (aerobic - resistance) significantly declined and‌ increased‌ VO2max significantly increased. Confirming the present study results , in a study, after 38 weeks of diet and weight loss in obese subjects, serum IL-18 levels were significantly decreased (6). Kohut and‌ colleagues‌ in a study‌ of exercise flexibility / resistance levels of IL-18 for 10 months did not change in older adults‌ (5). Stensvold and colleagues also showed that 12 weeks of resistance training‌ did‌ not‌ induce significant changes in IL-18 (4) that the findings are inconsistent. Consistent with previous studies, this study ‌‌might‌ be due to either Countercurrent intensity,
