Abstract:
The high incidence of ankle sprain, early resignation from the sport and related disabilities, the attention of researchers has attracted in order to identify and control of effective factors in the risk of this injury. The aim of this study was, comparison of feed-forward activity of selected muscles of the ankle, in collegiate active girls at the risk of ankle sprain with healthy girls. For this purpose, 32 active girl student of physical education without a history of ankle sprain, to purposefully and based on dynamic balance test scores (Y test), were divided into two groups of 16 people, including groups at risk of ankle sprain (To less balance) and control group. The feed-forward activity of muscles, was evaluated by electromyography, during jump-landing. The data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and was considered p ≤ 0/05. The lower feed-forward activity of peroneus longus and soleus muscles was observed in the group of at risk of ankle sprain, when compare with the control group (p˂0/05). Likely, less activity of peroneus longus and soleus muscles in girls with less balance than control group, could endanger the stability of the ankle and they put at risk ankle sprain.
