Abstract:
Passing through various stages of progress and development with justice and social welfare has always been a concern for economists and public management thinkers. The success of governments in achieving this goal is considered one of the components of their power. In the present research, the improvement of national welfare is investigated through the lens of enhancing national competitiveness capacity. The research methodology is descriptive-correlational, based on structural equation modeling. The main tool for data collection is documents and library information from international sources. The results of the research show that providing the pillars of national competitiveness leads to the promotion of national welfare; While strengthening the national competitiveness capacity with components such as "basic requirements", "efficiency enhancers" and "factors affecting innovation" improves the status of national welfare in terms of qualitative dimensions (such as happiness, gender equality, etc.) and quantitative dimensions (such as health, education and research).
Machine summary:
The results of the research show that providing the pillars of national competitiveness leads to the promotion of national welfare; While strengthening national competitiveness with components such as "fundamental requirements", "efficiency enhancers" and "factors affecting innovation" improves the status of national welfare in terms of qualitative dimensions (such as happiness, gender equality, etc.
Access to welfare and economic development also requires appropriate structural tools, including professional human resources, flexible financial markets, a professional bureaucracy structure, appropriate education and health systems, and the like (Jannati Fard, Nik Nejad & Safdari, 2009) which is reflected in the concept of national competitiveness capacity.
Health welfare is indicated by life expectancy 1; economic welfare is calculated using per capita GDP, the Gini coefficient, and total unemployment (percentage of the labor force); happiness is felt through psychological well-being, and scientific-cultural progress is measured with the help of the education index and the number of researchers in research and development 2 (per million people); human progress is a combination of freedom, gender equality 3, and the rate of intentional homicides (per 100,000 people).
