Abstract:
Among the fundamental motor skills in childhood are manipulative skills. Gross motor manipulation involves an individual's interaction with objects and the application or absorption of force to an object, which is a characteristic of it. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of a selected motor program including native and local games on the development of manipulative skills of six to eight-year-old boys in deprived areas. In this quasi-experimental study, 20 children were purposefully and conveniently selected from among boys in deprived areas of Andimeshk city. First, they were pre-tested using the Elrich Gross Motor Development Test. The subjects were randomly assigned to two groups of 10 as experimental and control groups, then the selected motor program was implemented for 24 sessions, each session lasting 45 minutes over eight weeks. During the implementation of the program, the control group performed their usual activities. After the end of the program, a post-test was conducted on both groups. After checking the normality of the data and the equality of variances, the data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance and one-way analysis of variance in the context of MANOVA. The results showed that native and local games had a positive effect on the development of manipulative skills (η2 = 0.979, sig = 0.003, F = 4.630). Therefore, by encouraging children to play appropriate native and local games, an opportunity can be provided for practicing and increasing the development of their manipulative skills.

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of a selected motor program including native and local games on the development of manipulative skills in six to eight-year-old boys from disadvantaged areas.
Among these studies, we can mention the research of McKenzie1 (22) and Goodway2 (16) in 1998 and 2003 respectively, which investigated the effect of physical education programs on children's manipulative skills and concluded that the implementation of a structured educational program leads to the development of manipulative skills.
Therefore, based on the goals of the research, this question is raised: Do selected native local games have an impact on the development of manipulative skills of children in deprived areas?
The results of this test showed that a period of native local games has an effect on the development of manipulative skills in children (F6,4=30.
Discussion and Conclusion In general, the aim of this research was to investigate the effect of a period of native local games on the development of manipulative skills of six to eight-year-old boys in deprived areas of Andimeshk city.
The results showed that the selected native local games were effective in developing the manipulative skills of boys.
