Abstract:
Humans, in all stages of life—from childhood to adolescence, maturity, and even old age—are constantly influenced by the thoughts and behaviors of others. Environmental conditions play a role, and humans, in turn, affect their environment. What constructs human culture is the collection of these influences and being influenced; whether changes in behavior are the result of intentional and calculated efforts within formal or traditional educational systems, or whether they shape the characteristics of individuals and society through environmental influence. In any case, societal transformations stem from the influence of traditional factors as well as the intentional efforts of the formal educational system. In the history of pre-Islamic Iran and also post-Islamic Iran, at least until the contemporary era, the primary manifestation of this educational system existed in the word 'Shagerd'. The will of the sovereignty in the minds of the student or students, whether individually or collectively, in private or public places, or according to time, place, and circumstances, has been influential so that they could preserve, guide, and in some cases exploit the country's human capital along the lines of their own political thought and ideology. This research aims to investigate the manner of change and evolution of the word 'Shagerd' and its transformation into 'Danesh-amuz' (student) and other terms, as well as the surrounding causes and factors of this subject over time, even up to the present period, to achieve the ultimate goal of the article. It appears that the role of governments, especially the influence of scholars, intellectuals, and the 'elite' of society within the body of sovereignty, has not been without impact on the 'alternative' to the word 'Shagerd' in Iran's traditional and formal educational systems. Furthermore, it is probable that alignment with the educational and training policies of transborder societies has influenced the change of the word 'Shagerd'. This research has been prepared using the historical method and a library-based, documentary, and comparative approach to data collection.
