Abstract:
AbstractHajj and Hajj pilgrimage were of Hosseinieh Ershad’s undertakings during the Pahlavi era; so that a unit with the same title was working under the supervision of Hosseinieh. Referring to written documentation and interviews with Hosseinieh Ershad’s personnel, this article focuses on Hosseinieh’s participation in the Hajj pilgrimage of Iranians during the Pahlavi era. Holding Hajj ritual training classes for pilgrims, organizing Ḥajj al-Tamattuʿ pilgrimage caravans, introducing and visiting Islamic historical monuments in the Arabian Peninsula, teaching the history and Sirah of the Prophet (PBUH) in Hosseiniyah, and teaching Hajj philosophy and analytical rituals were among the activities of this institute. The beneficial impacts of these measures were clearly seen during Hosseinieh’s five-year participation in the Hajj program.
Machine summary:
In this section, apart from providing welfare and comfort for pilgrims, Hosseiniyeh Ershad in the holy cities of Mecca, Medina, Mina, and Arafat — whose clear and excellent records exist in the Ministry of Interior and the National Police Intelligence Department — during the one-month Hajj trip, under the title "One Month Program Following the Prophet 9," engaged in introducing and visiting Islamic historical sites in the peninsula, teaching the history and biography (Sira) of the Prophet on-site, teaching the philosophy of Hajj, analytical rituals of Hajj, and their full implementation, the beneficial effects and results of this program have been clearly visible and evident throughout the five years of the Hosseiniyeh's continuous participation in the Hajj ceremonies.
Therefore, from the year 1347, the officials of Hosseiniyeh Ershad decided to launch the Hajj caravan independently so that, through that way, by selecting informed and reliable pilgrims in the holy sites of Medina, Mecca, Arafat, Mash'ar, and Mina, they could meet with students abroad and Palestinian fighters, and while exchanging materials and books and holding discussion sessions and lectures for them by Professor Motahhari, Dr. Shariati, and a group of accompanying scholars, they would strive to implement the intentions of the founders of the Special Fund to Aid Palestinian Fighters.
