In the manifest religion of Islam and the Quran, many recommendations have been made regarding consumption and consumerism, and some Quranic verses and the sayings of the Infallibles (AS) express this important issue; «Hazrat Amir (AS) says: Do not engage in excess and extravagance, for generosity (extravagance is not worthy of praise) and his poverty also does not evoke mercy» In another place, Imam Musa Kazim considers moderation to be the cause of the permanence of blessings and says: «For the one who practices moderation and contentment in life, his blessing remains, and he who lives with wastefulness and extravagance, his blessing vanishes» On the other hand, "israf" (extravagance) has been used in the meanings of overdoing things, exceeding the middle ground, wasting wealth, spending recklessly, excess, and wastefulness.
