Abstract:
Social and human capacities prepared, capacity-building in the field of enemy recognition, proving one's own superiority and excellence, proving the usurped nature without the caliphate system, preserving the unity of the Ummah, removing hypocrisy from the face of the religious community, etc., have been among their methods. They undertook major political duties under the political leadership of the Ummah. The political leadership of the Imams (peace be upon them) was a methodical and rule-based leadership that, in a sublime view of the Imamate movement, we observe as a beautiful tableau in the spirit of time and history; in such a way that in every historical period, they delineated the political duty of the Shia in various positions and situations, and that too with rational methods inspired by the truth of revelation and divine teachings. Politics, in the view of the Imams, means managing and guiding the human caravan towards goodness, virtue, and happiness. The orientation of politics in the view of the Imams (peace be upon them) has been focused on preserving legacies, the growth of the space of faith, and the removal of oppression, polytheism, and corruption. In pursuit of this high goal and spiritual purpose, they implemented methods that—in the entirety of this writing, although extracted in a summarized manner from the total political actions of the Imams (peace be upon them)—are discussed and mentioned, which can be referred to in a general view. Duty-orientedness and reliance on the element of divine and political duty for each Imam, inflexibility in implementing justice as an index of the movement of all the Imams (peace be upon them), keeping the Ashura movement alive, the embodiment of Shia political thought, clarity and honesty in political positions regardless of deceptions and personal opportunism, politics of preserving the Ummah from destruction by division and disintegration, non-compromise with oppressors which flowed as a culture throughout Shia history, concealment and Taqiyya in accordance with principles, preventing Fitna, and preventing the emergence of historical crises, organized movement, not abusing people's beliefs, creating solidarity among followers, supporting liberation movements, laying the groundwork for analogies, using the Shia Imamate as the basis and criterion for the legitimacy of all actions, decisions, and deeds of those committed to the Sharia. The Imams (peace be upon them) are symbols of guidance and indices of movement in all fields and all historical periods. Imamate possesses extensive manifestations, one of which is the political dimension of the Imamate movement.
