Abstract:
In the contemporary era, moral plagues and abnormalities have reached their peak, and various types of moral vices occur in different forms in all corners of the world every day; an ominous and unfortunate phenomenon that tends to weaken and shake the foundations of human civilization and lead to the decay of the fabric of human culture and morality. Accordingly, the issue of self-refinement and the cultivation of refined individuals is placed on the agenda as a type of solution. With this description, the present article aims to provide indications for moral education by employing the thoughts of His Eminence the Imam regarding the purification and refinement of the soul. The research method of the article is qualitative and descriptive-analytical, in which, in the first stage, His Eminence's thoughts were extracted by referring to the works and writings of Imam Khomeini in the field of self-refinement and the domain of moral education, and then these thoughts were analyzed based on a logical foundation. The results obtained from the perspective of Imam Khomeini show that: faith based on reliance on God and divine piety, along with alertness and insight, social responsibility, reflection, thinking, and self-knowledge, has an effective application in terms of moral education.

Imam Khomeini is among the rare figures of the contemporary era who, from the prime of youth to the last days of his life, made great efforts in self-refinement and the acquisition of knowledge, and with the excellent position he attained, was able to quench the thirst of many talented and eager souls on this path and, in his capacity as the Great Leader of the Islamic Revolution, transform a nation and guide many souls to the great and lofty peaks of humanity.
The educational system intended by Imam Khomeini is influenced by the characteristics of the Perfect Man. The Perfect Man, the ideal of the clear religion of Islam, is a manifestation of all the attributes of God Almighty and the mirror of the holy divine light; therefore, based on the words of His Eminence the Imam and his specific perspective regarding man, the researcher seeks to answer this question: how can one, within the framework of the Imam's moral education thought and based on the purification and self-refinement of the soul, achieve the intended goals—which are the divinization of man and the realization of the Perfect Man—and provide solutions?
