(Mohammadi, 1385: 501-538; Esposito, 1382: 325) The present writing, among the very extensive national, regional, global, and historical reflections and impacts of the Islamic Revolution, addresses only some of its political achievements and results.
The political institution of "Velayat-e Faqih" (Guardianship of the Jurist), which was the practical realization of the will of the Iranian people during the Islamic Revolution based on an Islamic government, was the most important replacement for the institution of monarchy.
Due to the transformation in the political values of Iranian society, this prominent idea found socio-political reality in the form of the institution of Velayat-e Faqih and, by being placed in the Constitution and approved by the majority of the people, was established as one of the fixed and unchangeable principles in the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
(Imam Khomeini, 1385: 125-9) This very fundamental teaching, through the connection it gained with the necessity of the people's accompaniment of the Islamic government and the necessity of their satisfaction in this regard, was presented in the form of religious democracy and as a new governmental model, and with the formation of the Islamic Republic in Iran, achieved social realization.
