Abstract:
The 'Mubahala' verse proves a great virtue for the companions of the Prophet (PBUH) during the event of Mubahala. Therefore, it has become a subject of dispute among some commentators. Although the majority of them accept this virtue, a limited number of Sunni commentators attempt to cast doubt in order to exclude this virtue from the five members of Ahl al-Abba (the Prophet (PBUH), Hazrat Ali (AS), Hazrat Fatima (SA), Imam Hassan (AS), and Imam Hussain (AS)) or to include the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) or his companions with them. Their point of contention is the application of the terms 'our sons', 'our women', and 'ourselves', and the indication of the verse regarding the virtue of Ahl al-Kisa. One of these individuals is 'Druze', who interpreted the Quran using the method of chronological revelation and claims that with the help of this method, a better understanding of the verses can be achieved. This writing, using a descriptive-analytical method with library resources, will analyze and critique the view of 'Druze' in interpreting the 'Mubahala' verse, showing that he has not only failed to provide a better understanding of the verse but, in his interpretation, has labeled the Shia view as fabricated and forged, contrary to the history of early Islam and the history of revelation. He refers to the absence and birth of the Hasanein (AS) during the Mubahala, while Sunni sources testify that the virtue of accompanying the Prophet (PBUH) during the Mubahala belongs exclusively to his Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
Machine summary:
Based on his own claim, by citing components such as narrations of the order of revelation, the reason for revelation, the Meccan and Medinan nature of the verses, Islamic history, the biography of Prophet Muhammad (ص), and the atmosphere of revelation, he presented an interpretation titled "Al-Tafsir al-Hadith," which he claims provides a more complete and better understanding of the verses.
'" (Darwaza, 1383 AH: 7/159) Careful attention to the narrated reason for revelation shows that Darwaza, like Shiite commentators and many Sunni commentators, believes that the Prophet (ص) was present in the Mubahala with the Christians of Najran along with Hazrat Ali (ع), Hazrat Fatima (س), Imam Hassan (ع), and Imam Hussain (ع).
How is it possible that these beliefs are fabrications of the Shiites, while the vast majority of them have been confirmed by Sunni scholars; so much so that even Darwaza himself, in explaining the reason for the revelation of the verse, explicitly states this matter; for example: Suyuti narrates from Sahih Muslim, Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Mundhir, and Hakim al-Bayhaqi from the saying of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas that when verse 61 of Surah Al Imran was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (ص) called Ali (ع), Fatima (س), Hassan (ع), and Hussain (ع) and said, "O Allah, these are my people.
