Abstract:
Given the innate human need for worship and the current state of work environments in Islamic societies in the present era, it is necessary to take steps toward fulfilling the obligatory duty of prayer and strengthening it within work environments; therefore, this article attempts, at the beginning, to introduce worship, the reality, importance, effects, and blessings of prayer according to verses and traditions, and then discusses its impact on the individual and society in having an awakened conscience to achieve the happiness of worldly and otherworldly life. In another section of this article, discussions are held regarding topics such as the secrets of prayer, the causes of negligence towards it, and its effects on the job commitment of employees, which ultimately concludes that with proper management by officials in their respective work fields—by increasing individuals' motivation for responsibility to achieve better productivity and the excellence of their job commitment in light of the increasing growth of professional ethics—with the help of the culture of performing prayer and providing key and constructive solutions that can be among the most important factors for work growth and progress.

Almighty God, after commanding the recitation of the Quran, commands His Prophet to perform prayer; because prayer restrains from lewdness and wrongdoing, the Quran says: ﴿اتْلُ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاء وَالْمُنكَرِ وَلَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ ﴾ (Ankabut/ 45) 'Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer.
