Abstract:
Ziyarat al-Jami'ah al-Kabirah is one of the most important texts regarding Imamology, narrated from Imam Hadi (AS). In this discourse, after a short introduction on Imamate and a brief introduction to the Ziyarah, the author has divided its phrases into seven themes: salutation, martyrdom, expression of interests, the reason for expressing devotion, prayer and intercession, the introduction of the Imam and the station of Imamate, and the statuses of the Imams.
Machine summary:
Introduction: God's purpose in creating jinn and humans is that they fulfill their duty of servitude; as the noble verse states: (وَ ما خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَ الإنْسَ إلاَّ لِیَعْبُدوُنِ) (Adh-Dhariyat (51) / 56) In the hadiths that have reached us from the Ahl al-Bayt of infallibility and purity, they have considered the foundation and basis of worship to be the معرفت (gnosis/knowledge) of God. For example, in a narration from the Master of Martyrs 7, it is quoted: یا أیّها الناس، إنّ الله ـ و الله ـ ما خلق العباد إلّا لیعرفوه، فإذا عرفوه عبدوه، فإذا عبدوه استغنوا بعبادته عن عبادة من سواه.
For this reason, among the documents and records received from the Imams, we encounter various forms, including supplications, hadiths, debates, pilgrimages (ziyarat), sermons, intimate prayers, letters, etc.
With a little attention, we can divide the theme of Ziyarat Jami'ah al-Kabirah into five parts: 1- Salutation (Salam), 2- Testimony (Shahadat), 3- Expression of Affection, 4- Reason for Expressing Devotion, 5- Supplication (Du'a) and Intercession (Tawassul).
3-2) Testimony: One part of the ziyarat includes testimony to the Oneness of the Truth, witnessing the messengership of the Final Prophet, and acknowledging the Imamate and leadership of the lineage of Wilayah, in which some of the perfections that the Exalted Truth has bestowed upon them are expressed in about 35 phrases.
The supplications included in the text of the ziyarat contain lofty monotheistic concepts and show that the visitor entering the presence of the Infallible Imam must possess a strong monotheistic foundation.
