Nahj al-Balagha is an encyclopedia of Islamic culture on diverse subjects that, with its rich content and beautiful, rhythmic imagery, has attracted the attention of many literati and orators. The world and the hereafter are among the main and central themes of Nahj al-Balagha, in which the Imam, by presenting allusive images of them, not only demonstrates the true nature of the world and the hereafter but also showcases his creativity, ingenuity, eloquence, and art of oratory to the audience. Through allusive expressions, His Eminence expresses the instability of the world, the eternity of the hereafter, the untimely arrival of death, and the revealing of secrets at the time of Resurrection. In his allusive imagery, he makes good use of harmony, sonic and phonetic proportion, and internal and external music, thereby increasing the beauty and attractiveness of his images.
