Abstract:
the oil and gas industry plays a crucial role in national economic growth but is beset by challenges such as price volatility and reduced investment. smart contracts, which leverage information and communication technologies, have the potential to bring transformative changes to this sector. however, before implementing smart contracts, it is essential to analyze their challenges and identify the critical factors influencing their adoption. this study aims to identify and assess the key dimensions of the smart contracts pathology model in the oil and gas industry. the research follows a mixed-methods approach. in the qualitative phase, experts on smart contracts were consulted, while in the quantitative phase, the dematel method was used to identify key factors, drawing on a sample of 25 experts. the findings revealed that macro-structural, micro-structural, content, and socio-cultural factors are the most significant in the successful implementation of smart contracts in this industry.

Identification and Importance Determination of Smart Contract Pathology Model Dimensions in the Oil and Gas Industry Date of article receipt: 2023.
The aim of this research was to identify and determine the importance of the dimensions of the smart contract pathology model in the oil and gas industry.
In the qualitative phase, the smart contract pathology model was enumerated by consulting experts, and in the quantitative section, the determination of the most important dimensions was carried out through the DEMATEL method.
For example, smart contracts and distributed ledger technology can bring the oil and gas industry, which has always used paper contracts and old software for trade, into the digital world in line with increasing transparency and efficiency for this industry (Blockchain Research Center website).
In the qualitative part, by referring to experts and relying on semi-structured interviews, information was analyzed using the thematic analysis method of the smart contract pathology model, which consists of four overarching themes: macro-structural factors, micro-structural factors, content factors, and factors off-ledger computations Khan et al Consensus mechanism Legal Scalability Immutability reliance on "offchain" resources cultural - social, based on eighteen organizing themes and 122 basic themes, is formed.
