Abstract:
With the efforts of the Training Unit of the Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences (Noor), on Saturday, December 15, 2024, a webinar introducing the 'Encyclopedia of Sects and Schools of Thought' software was held in person and virtually at the Noor Center meeting hall. The presenter of this exquisite product was Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Hamidreza Shirmaleki, the scientific director of the Rational Sciences group of the Noor Research Deputy, who, while referring to the content and features of the library section, introduced the capabilities of the tree structure section and discussed its various features. The following report is a detailed account of this scientific webinar for our dear readers.
Machine summary:
Our second goal, which is actually the primary task of the Research Deputy and scientific groups, is the enrichment of digital texts to facilitate researchers' access to text content in pursuit of conceptual searching through thematic dictionaries or tree structures, which I will explain to you dear ones in the following sections.
In tree analysis, we have a tree with dozens of book titles and volumes, to which all the contents of these books are connected; so that if someone wants, for example, to conduct research regarding the "men of a specific sect" and from its sub-branches, for instance, about the "founder of the sect," by referring to the "men of the sect" branch and from there to the "founder of the sect" branch, they can simultaneously access all the texts written about the men and the founder of that sect, along with the address and text of the book, and achieve their research goal using the obtained data, which is presented in an integrated and categorized manner.
As was mentioned, we have also included religious books in this program and analyzed the discussions and sects related to Christianity and Judaism and connected them to the tree branches so that researchers have access to all discussions in this field; for example, when you select the Malakaniyya sect, the book I'tiqadat Firaq al-Muslimin by Fakhr Razi, written in the seventh century AH, has addressed the introduction of this sect and expressed their beliefs regarding Jesus (AS) and his crucifixion.
