In a review study, it was concluded that mindfulness brings various positive psychological effects, including increased psychological well-being, reduction of psychological symptoms and emotional acceptance reactions, improvement of emotion and behavior regulation, and vitality and liveliness (Keyes and Pidgeon, 2013); however, despite research showing that mindfulness has been very successful in reducing rumination and increasing happiness and psychological well-being, very few studies have investigated it in Iran.
Given the aforementioned cases, this research aims to study the effectiveness of mindfulness techniques in increasing psychological well-being, happiness, and reducing rumination in single women by testing the following hypotheses: 1.
Based on the results listed in the table above, training in mindfulness techniques, compared to the control group, led to an improvement in happiness and psychological well-being and a reduction in rumination in the post-test.
Since promoting happiness and increasing satisfaction in young girls requires strategies that enable them to maintain the ability to adapt to existing processes, psychological training can play an effective role in achieving this goal, especially in the mindfulness therapeutic approach, which believes that a client is never viewed as a failure, damaged, or hopeless; instead, this approach is always a type of empowerment that considers a life based on values, richness, and meaningfulness accessible to everyone (Izadi, 1391).
