Abstract:
Human achievements from industry and modern technologies, in addition to the benefits and welfare they have brought, have always been accompanied by damages. One of the prominent examples of these innovations is the creation of social networks. While creating interaction and multi-directional communications among users, these networks make it possible to share interests, establish contact with other cultures, beliefs, and religions, and obtain information on various topics. However, alongside these advantages, the improper use of these networks can lead to irreparable damages such as the endangerment of privacy, the destruction of family relationships, an increase in spousal infidelity, and the phenomenon of sexual victimization. Sexual victimization in social networks refers, in a sense, to the process of individuals being victimized sexually due to the emergence, growth, development, and subsequent use of information and communication technology. This crime can manifest in various forms, including sexual harassment, extortion, and pornography. Therefore, identifying the platforms that create this harm, both at the social and family levels and within the core of social networks, requires the provision of a complete and comprehensive program so that, in its light, on one hand, the possibility of controlling a wide range of sexual harms in this communication technology is provided, and on the other hand, by identifying various classes of sexual victims, all affected persons fall under the scope of its measures. In the present research, community-oriented social prevention of sexual victimization in cyberspace is considered. This type of prevention seeks to change and improve economic, cultural, and social conditions that are, in a sense, precursors to delinquency and victimization. Therefore, it is better to say that the goal of community-oriented social prevention is to fight against environmental crime-inducing factors. Examples of solutions for this type of prevention include educational and training measures, job creation, assistance in family formation, etc. On the other hand, some examples of supervisory measures that fall within the framework of situational prevention can be mentioned. The use of modern management tools, including intelligent management software for organizing the virtual environment used by children and adolescents, is another solution.
Machine summary:
The formation and development of various types of social networks has been among the achievements and requirements of cyberspace, so that alongside the opportunities and advantages that these networks have created to facilitate communication between individuals of different societies, they have also resulted in challenges such as sexual victimization for individuals; therefore, it is necessary to provide preventive solutions to prevent the emergence of potential threats and harms of these networks, so that while correctly using the facilities of these networks, less damage and victimization, especially in the sexual field, occurs.
Community-based social prevention tries to reduce the context and grounds for delinquency and victimization by changing and improving economic, social, and cultural conditions, and in other words, one of the most effective solutions for preventing emerging social harms such as sexual victimization in virtual social networks is increasing the cyber knowledge and media literacy of users and educating them in this regard.
Among the most important actions in this field are: - Broadcasting informative advertisements by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to increase the awareness of families regarding the dangers arising from the internet and social networks like Facebook and Twitter; - Broadcasting short educational programs about the advantages and disadvantages of membership in social networks through the voices of popular athletes and artists whom young people generally consider role models; Najafi Abrandabadi, Ali Hossein, Fair Crime Prevention, previous source, p.
However, other educational and upbringing programs and measures that fall within the duties of school and university institutions include providing the grounds for the correct use of cyberspace and also cooperating with families in preventing deviations and sexual victimization of their children in social networks.
