And whenever it is said to them [out of advice and goodwill] to believe in what Allah has sent down [which refers to the Quran and His Messenger] ﴿قالوا نؤمن بما أنزل علینا﴾ They say: We believe in what has been sent down to us [which is the Torah and belief in Moses (AS)] ﴿ویکفرون بما وراءه وهو الحقّ مصدّقا لما معهم﴾ And they disbelieve in what comes after the Torah [which is the revelation of the Holy Quran and the Final Prophet], even though it is the Truth, confirming that which is with them [whether in its glad tidings regarding its appearance or the original and uncorrupted essence of the Torah].
