Abstract:
The author's goal in presenting and explaining this story is that a lost human has a lost sign/identity that he knows, and another human who, although he also has something lost, has forgotten it and is satisfied with merely imitating others; he plays the role of a person who has lost a camel and repeats the same signs imitatively without knowing what he is saying. However, since: 'The friend loves this confusion; a futile effort is better than oblivion, and the light of seeking can guide him to the truth,' in this way, Rumi establishes a reconciliation between different intellectual schools. But if ultimately the lost human does not find his lost self, he cannot reach the destination. Of course, during the story, Rumi conveys other messages for seekers of truth and reality, such as: Divine love, the lost, the traveler, the camel, the original homeland, the light of insight, religions, philosophers and theologians, opposites, and piety.
