Abstract:
In examining Majma' al-Insha, the present article provides a general overview of the role of munsha'at (epistolary compositions), wars, and collections of correspondence in historiography and historical investigation. Additionally, to provide further familiarity with Majma' al-Insha, the letter from Maulana Mohammad Mushakk to the scholars of Transoxiana is examined. The letter of Maulana Mohammad Mushakk follows a letter written by the scholars of Transoxiana at the request of Abdullah Khan Uzbek in response to the letter of the notables of Mashhad regarding the brutal attack of Muslim Uzbeks on the Muslim people of Mashhad.
