Abstract: In this research, the collection of Shahid Bahonar Public Library of Borujerd has been investigated based on subject dispersion and the rate of use of the collection categorized by subject headings.
Since this library, like other public libraries, faces all classes and groups of society and consequently all types of information needs, examining the rate of use of this library's collection categorized by subject headings can reveal the study interests of its users.
The aim of this research is to determine the rate of use of the Shahid Bahonar Public Library collection in Borujerd County, categorized by subject headings, in the year 1380 (Solar Hijri) (6:88).
Operational Definitions of Research Components Subject Dispersion: The distribution of the library's book collection according to the ten Dewey decimal classifications; Rate of Use: In this research, book loan statistics are considered the criterion for use.
In subjects such as generalities, language, pure sciences, and art, the percentage of books loaned in most libraries was higher than the percentage of the collection (2).
Due to the manual nature of the library loan system, the extent of the collection, and the impossibility of examining all the books in the collection, the study was conducted on a sample selected by the percentage method.
Using the findings and to answer the third research question, the percentage of books that were not loaned at all in the year 1380 in each category was calculated, and the results are reflected in Chart 3.
