Abstract:
Our belief is that each of the infallible Imams, peace be upon them, chose the best method for religious leadership according to the temporal conditions, and Imam Sajjad, peace be upon him, expressed the true meaning of prayer by deepening its significance and providing a comprehensive perspective on it. In this article, in a general overview, the author divides prayer into four categories: need-based, praise-based, remembering God based on scientific and natural works, and individual and social self-improvement, and has analyzed the theological and ethical aspects surrounding them by citing examples of the Imam's prayers.

As we have stated, the basis of the supplications of need of Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn (peace be upon him) is the absolute poverty of man, the self-sufficiency of God, detachment from everything other than Him, and turning towards the Lord of the worlds; and it is in this state that human dignity is preserved, honor remains untarnished, intellect and wisdom flourish, and he ascends to the lofty peak of perfection.
