The 2014 Ukraine crisis which started by Russia pressuring the country not to join the free trade agreement with the EU, and led to the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula to the Russian Federation, increased the tension between Russia and the west due to the consequences that the annexation and the sanctions both sides imposed against each other and downgraded relations to the lowest in the last 25 years, so that the intensification of tensions has conjured up the Cold War conflicts and rivalries. Therefore, the main goal of this paper is to answer the question that what consequences have the annexation of Crimea by Russia and the subsequent sanctions had for the actors involved in the 2014 Ukrainian crisis? The findings of this research which has used the International political economy show that the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation and the following sanctions have had a host of negative consequences for Ukraine, Russia, the EU, the US, and the NATO, on various dimensions. This research has been written using the descriptive-analytical method and the collection of information has been conducted by use of cataloging the library sources including books, papers, theses, and credible internet documents and sources.
