The British philosopher Roger Scruton has been Effective role in the development of analytical aesthetics. In addition to theoretical fields, he has entered into philosophical discussions about artistic branches. One of the most important of these topics is photography and representation. This effect has caused many reactions. One of the most important of these is Dominic McIver Lopes. This study, using the method of library resource analysis, while summarizing the views of Scruton and Lopes, proposes a semiotic approach in order to get out of the duality of intentionality and causality in Indo conflicts in the relationship between art and photography. In this approach, the photograph is like a sign, but a sign that, in some way, restores our aesthetic intention to the photograph itself, not to the subject. In this way, the core of Scruton's thinking, the intention for the image itself, is preserved, and its representation is suspended. It is also possible to turn the photo into art, as Lopes intends. For this purpose, examples of symptomatic photographs and their related methods are introduced. Suggested pathways are: reminding, reminding and creating hope / fear, questioning, questioning and reprimanding /blaming, surprise and amazement, focus and coherence, difference in the vision of social actions, and social balance. These pathways are the intermediaries that connect the photograph with Scruton's aesthetic intention, that is, disinterested interest, and a kind of commitment to the realm of beauty, and turn it into a work of art.
