In a world where every day more meanings are buried under the appearance of machine lives, meaningful psychotherapists have realized more than ever the need of today’s human to discover the meaning of life, and therefore a major part of today’s psychology is devoted to meaning therapy. Existential psychotherapy is one of these branches. In the novel Prince Ehtejab by Houshang Golshiri, which is a modern story in the contemporary literature of the country and a psychological novel, the author has succeeded in portraying the concerns of finding meaning in life for the characters. In this article, with the descriptive-analytical method, the four ultimate concerns raised in existential psychotherapy by Irwin David Yalom, which include fear of death, freedom, loneliness, and emptiness, were tried to be represented in different layers of the main character of the story, Khosrow. Repelling anxiety and creating waves is one of the solutions that Yalom offers in facing the anxiety caused by death, and they can be adapted to Khosrow’s personality. Also, in the face of the fear of freedom, relocation and denial of responsibility are some of the things that Khosrow takes refuge in. In the category of anxiety caused by loneliness, defamiliarization of objects and taking refuge in interpersonal relationships are introduced as refuges that can be adapted to the character of the prince, and finally in the fourth ultimate anxiety which is emptiness, belief in the cosmic meaning, in the absence of that, faith in The worldly personal meaning and having a commitment to escape from the absurdity of life are among the proposed solutions that Prince Khosrow, with the lack of them one by one in his life, finally succumbs to death.
