Identifying scientific fields and examining their changes is of great importance. In this article, a time-based cumulative citation model is presented to investigate and analyze the scientific changes in the field of data quality. Features of this model include adaptability to other fields and the ability to display all scientific changes, including the birth, merging, failure, or death of a scientific field. The executive steps of this model are as follows: data preparation, extraction of the time-based citation model, discovery of scientific communities, connection of scientific communities, extraction of the change model, analysis of scientific changes. To examine the quality of the proposed model, all articles published between 1970 and 2009, including more than 7000 articles, were examined. Based on the time-based cumulative citation model, it was found that the field of data quality is being studied in various fields. Also, based on the conducted research, there is an 82% correlation between the number of citations and the growth of the data quality field, which indicates the importance of citations for the survival and growth of scientific fields.
