چکیده:
In this article, while stating the position of vow in terms of conceptual and theoretical anthropology of religion, its status as one of the religious actions and behaviors among the Muslim people of Iran is discussed. In addition, identifying its share and role in the distinction between women and men in performing religious ceremonies and ultimately explaining the identity formation of women through its performance is considered. For most Iranian women, due to religious belief or awareness of social values related to vows, compared to men who believe in this religious tradition but act differently from women, or women who do not believe in fulfilling a vow as a religious duty or social matter and therefore do not have significant and active participation in religious ceremonies, a special situation is provided. The process of vow causes and originates their differentiation from others (women and men regardless of vow). This meaning can be shown by emphasizing the vows of women and men in religious ceremonies. Although many vows and tools used in religious ceremonies are used jointly for women and men, some of them are specific to men's religious ceremonies and rituals, and others are exclusive to women. Considering the social class, time, place, gender, and cultural and social position of women and men, the different use of vows for this social group is also identity-creating.
خلاصه ماشینی:
For many Iranian women, due to religious belief or awareness of social values related to *nazar*, a special position is created in comparison to men who believe in this religious tradition but act differently than women, or women who do not believe in fulfilling a vow as a religious duty or social obligation and consequently do not have significant and active participation in religious ceremonies.
Considering social class, time, place, gender, and the cultural and social position of women and men, the different use of vows for this social group is also identity-creating.
Therefore, the main effort in this article is to answer the following two questions: Is a vow merely a type of social and individual activity that takes on a religious and divine form and shape in mourning ceremonies, or does it simultaneously create a kind of – It also creates a social identity and value for women?
If belonging to a specific social class and having a high level of education are identity-building factors for individuals in modern society, performing vows through religious rituals and ceremonies can also have this share and role among religious women (Bahar 380:157).
Therefore, performing a specific act and ritual called *nazar* (vow) is directed towards its cultural and social meaning, and the type and position of the vow also change with changing cultural conditions.
On the other hand, the process of identity formation for women through participation in religious ceremonies and distribution of vows is not the same as that of men, because it is based on different locations, times, types, and rankings of vows.
