چکیده:
Addiction, with its destructive effects, is the beginning of walking hand in hand with death. The present study was conducted with the aim of predicting the tendency toward drug abuse in students based on their attachment style, sensation seeking, and psychological capital. The present research was of a descriptive type and was conducted using a correlational design. The statistical population of the research included students of Azad University of Rasht in the academic year 1398-99, from whom 150 people were selected as the research sample using random sampling. To collect data, the Adult Attachment Style Scale (1990), Zuckerman's Sensation Seeking Questionnaire (1970), Luthans' Psychological Capital Questionnaire (2007), and Zargar's Addiction Readiness Questionnaire (1385) were used. Regression analysis results at the 0.05 level showed that among the subscales of attachment styles, secure and avoidant attachment styles were significant for predicting drug abuse in students, but the ambivalent attachment style was not significant. Additionally, the level of sensation seeking and psychological capital of students was also significant in predicting the tendency toward drug abuse. Based on the results of this research, it can be said that the quality of interaction between child and mother as early childhood experiences, emotional deprivation, the level of sensation seeking and its components, as well as factors that cause an increase or decrease in individuals' psychological capital, can serve as significant predictors of students' tendency toward drug abuse. These findings emphasize the necessity of paying more attention to early experiences and the psychological characteristics of individuals in their tendency toward high-risk experiences in adulthood.

Based on the results of this research, it can be said that the quality of interaction between the child and the mother as early childhood experiences, emotional deprivation, the level of sensation seeking and its components, as well as factors that cause an increase or decrease in individuals' psychological capital, can serve as significant predictors of students' tendency toward substance abuse.
On the other hand, considering that the present research operates in an addiction treatment center, it has a greater tendency to investigate and study the relationship between the variables mentioned in the research, such as attachment, sensation seeking, and psychological capital, with the probability of inclination toward substance abuse.
000; therefore, it can be said that the hypothesis of the significance of the regression model is confirmed at a 95 percent confidence level, and the predictor variables of secure, avoidant, and ambivalent attachment styles, sensation seeking, and psychological capital have the necessary predictive power to explain the changes in the substance abuse variable among students.
